The wildland–urban interface (WUI) is a growing global hotspot where human development and wild landscapes collide, driving wildfire risk, habitat loss, and disease spread. A new high-resolution global map reveals previously undocumented WUI hotspots, emphasizing the urgent need to understand its rapid expansion and impact on communities worldwide.
