Forest Roads and Operational Wildfire Response Planning and

The U.S. Forest Service has released two new publications. The first is an article about how forest road planning can be helpful in wildfire mitigation and response. This then ties in to the second publication that is a report entitled Disturbance and Sustainability in Forests of the Western United States. Read the entire report for a full briefing of disturbance related issues in the west. Then, take a look at the shorter article to learn how forest roads can play a role in tackling one of the West’s greatest disturbances: wildfire.
