Utah: Prescribed Burning – Landowner Responsibility and Liability

The legality of conducting prescribed fires can sometimes be tricky and landowners often want to ensure that what they are doing falls beneath the law. The Utah State Forestry Extension hopes to reduce some of the confusion for landowners conducting prescribed burns. Their new article talks about the importance of determining liability in prescribed burning scenarios and talks briefly about how things work in Utah.
