ABOUT YOUR NETWORK:
Learn about the widespread research, partnerships, and impacts championed by the Fire Science Exchange Network (FSEN) in this new video.
Established in 2010 under the Joint Fire Science Program (JFSP), the FSEN is a national collaboration of 15 regional exchanges designed to bridge the gap between fire science and on-the-ground fire and land management.
Each exchange operates within an ecologically distinct region—such as the Great Basin, Pacific Northwest, or Southern Rockies—and delivers timely, regionally relevant science on topics such as wildfire behavior, prescribed fire, smoke management and fuels treatment effectiveness.
The FSEN ensures that wildland fire science is accessible, credible, and actionable.
The network engages federal, state, tribal, local, academic, non-governmental organizations and private landowners, wildland fire managers, practitioners, scientists and the local public through workshops, webinars, field tours, publications, and decision-support tools that promote evidence-based management.
These efforts help inform wildland fire management, foster resilient ecosystems and communities, and support adaptive management practices.
Get an inside look at the people involved, how regional exchanges deliver wildland fire science, and the lasting partnerships and impact since 2010!
