The working paper “Changing Hazards, Exposure and Vulnerability in the Conterminous United States, 2020–2070” from Resources for the Future looks at some of the hazards associated with climate change—wildfire, water scarcity and heat stress—and their interplay with population density and social vulnerability. Among other observations, the authors note that “addressing the projected growth in wildfire hazard in the Southeast may warrant substantially different policies” than those currently focused on wildfires in the West.
