Beyond Hazardous Fuels: Managing Fire for Social, Economic & Ecological Benefits
The joint event of the 3rd Southwest Fire Ecology Conference and the 1st Applied Fire Science Workshop will provide for a more effective means of linking fire researchers with fire managers and practitioners, and will allow for efficient science delivery through workshops, trainings, planning meetings, roundtables, oral presentations, field trips, and more.
Goals and Objectives of the Event:
- Create new connections among researchers, managers and practitioners
- Through roundtable discussions, provide an opportunity for line officers, resource advisers, operations and planning staff, public information staff, etc., to understand some of the internal communication issues that occur during wildfire management actions and to develop potential solutions
- Invite presentations on new science and management
- Provide a cost-effective means of science delivery and technology transfer
