Webinar - Burning for Birds: Birds, Fire and Southeastern Habitat Management

Apr 3, 2015 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

This webinar will help to underscore the tight interconnections between birds and fire and will focus on four key factors that fire practitioners vary when conducting burns: frequency, season, extent, and ignition pattern. Examples of the effects fires can have on birds associated with fire-dependent ecosystems found in the southeast will be presented.

Jim Cox heads up the Stoddard Bird Lab at Tall Timbers Research Station and spends most of his time studying the declining bird species associated with southern pine forests. Following the webinar there will be time for Q & A.
